A FRESH START – From Posh Spice to one of the most successful, self-made fashion designers of our time, Victoria Beckham must surely know a thing or two about starting anew. A force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry, she stays true to her discrete, luxe and feminine aesthetic. And it was about time that her sunglass line followed suit.
First launched in 2009, the Victoria Beckham eyewear line is about to undergo some changes. The designer is looking into further increasing the quality of the frames by continuing the partnership with Cutler and Gross, while also starting a new collaboration with lens producer Zeiss.
“It was important for me to evolve existing styles and develop new pieces for my retail partners and my own store and Web site and we now have the ability to do this,” Beckham told WWD. “For me, it is about the line continuing to expand and incorporating the best materials and techniques possible. It is an exciting time for the category.”
More details about the revamped Victoria Beckham sunglasses are bound to surface in September, when the new collection launches at the Silmo, the international optics and eyewear trade fair in Paris.
Until then, the current offering of Victoria Beckham sunglasses will most likely stay centered around the aviators, which come in a vast array bright, bold colors that will be surely be a hit this summer. Check out some of the styles in the promotional image gallery above. (WWD)
