A 60s FEEL – This season’s Valentino eyewear campaign is based on clean, black and white visuals. A far cry from the bold colored garments that walked the Fall/Winter 2014-15 runway, the campaign retains that feeling of inherent elegance, which is enhanced by the clean, powerful graphics.

Both the men’s and the women’s campaigns have all-white backgrounds, with the models posing inside a thin, black contour. The campaign heavily relies on portraits and close-ups for the accessories (eyewear, bags and boots). The compositional accents, such as the crisp cape and the bubble ponytail, are the much-needed anchor points for the floor-length gowns and for the airy fabrics. There is a certain mood or state of mind that sums up each look: both the female and the male models look determined and fully immersed in their characters.

Luckily, there are enough pairs of sunglasses and optical frames to make this a Valentino eyewear campaign as well. The women’s eyewear includes 2 pairs of Valentino sunglasses, both of which are black and wildly, wildly oversized. Taking after the 60s spirit, the sunnies are show-stoppers in their own right. There is only one pair of women’s optical eyewear in the campaign. These black frames are paired with a multicolored harlequin dress with matching piping.

As for the men, this Valentino eyewear campaign features 2 pairs of sunglasses, both black and edgy. Paired with cool outerwear and a nonchalant attitude, the sunglasses give off a luxurious feeling that perfectly embodies the Valentino spirit.
