FREE FOR CHANEL – The latest Chanel eyewear comes in pastel and neutral hues with hints of cotton candy pink. Charlotte Free, renowned pink-haired model, has been chosen to showcase the latest sunglasses and optical frames from the luxury fashion house.

Shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself, the photos portray Charlotte posing casually or meditatively in color-matching surroundings. The general mood of the campaign, as expressed by Chanel, is “romantico-rock”, while Charlotte herself was set to depict a “mischievous young woman”. A first-timer when it comes to front a Chanel campaign, she brings along with her pink hair a defiant, spontaneous feeling that is complementary to what the brand stands for. The long gloves and the iconic Chanel tweed are the luxurious touches that twist the vibe from full on punk to soft, romantic rock.

As for the frames, the Chanel eyewear ranges from oversized sunglasses to cat eye optical frames and from tame, neutral shades to pastel, easy-going hues. Soft mauves and nudes are paired with decorated metal temples to add that elegant touch. Charlotte Free looks glam and even a little flirty in the shots, as she portrays the “woman-child”. Following in the footsteps of Alice Dellal, another rock-chic star who embodied the Chanel spirit in last season’s eyewear campaign, it seems that Charlotte Free is on her way to being the next Chanel eyewear IT-girl.
