GOING RETRO – Another campaign, another celebrity. After having Rita Ora as the star of last season’s ads, Roberto Cavalli turns to a famous singer yet again, with the Spring/Summer 2015 campaign. Whereas Rita Ora embodied Marylin’s sensuality, Nicki Minaj embraces a 60s aesthetic that brings Cavalli’s colorful prints and exotic imagery to life.

Wearing a sleek full bob, Nicki strikes dancing poses in curve-hugging dresses against a rainbow-colored background. Of course, Roberto Cavalli accessories also make an appearance. Nicki lavishly poses with a couple of handbags, as well as with two pairs of Roberto Cavalli glasses. As expected, this season’s eyewear offering boasts the rich finishing touches that we’ve come to expect from the brand.

The sunglasses and optical frames featured in the campaign both have heavily adorned temples. The eyeglasses are sleek, even minimalistic – until you look at their temples. With a crystal swirl that also incorporates the brand’s logo, the decorated temples are the ideal detail to pull the frames out of staleness. As for the sunglasses, they feature the same intricate temples, only this time the design goes along the entire length of the temple. Red lenses provide the final touch of glam to these extravagant aviator shades.
