READY FOR ANYTHING – Better known for the exquisite footwear than for its eyewear, Nine West is one of the most reputable brands in the fashion industry.

Founded in 1978 in Manhattan, Nine West products have you covered, no matter what. And that is exactly the message of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2014 campaign. The photos in the campaign have a cool and fun vibe and feature strategic shots of the Nine West shoes and eyewear. Each accessory is accompanied by a witty, concise message about a specific occasion. Some of the messages are “Salary review”, “Meeting about a meeting” and “Started husband hunting”. Needless to say, the last one stirred up quite a bit of controversy from the brand’s clients and from the press. But, if we allow that bad publicity is still publicity, then the campaign can be considered a success.

A couple of the campaign photos feature Nine West eyewear and, thankfully, these are not as controversial. The Nine West optical pair boast an ombre frame and have the brand’s logo delicately inlaid on the temples. As for the other Nine West eyewear, they are a pair of oversized sunglasses in a brown hue that is just perfect for fall.

Controversial or not, the Nine West campaign has definitely gained its fair share of publicity. And, with such an original concept, it might have paved the way for other such daring campaigns in the future. Who knows?
