PUMA SWITCHES EYEWEAR PARTNERS – German sports manufacturer Puma is about to kick off a whole new phase in their eyewear developing process. The company has announced the signing of a partnership agreement for optical frames and sunglasses with Kering Eyewear. The new contract, which will become fully effective in January 2016, will mark the end of the company’s 12-year long collaboration with current partner Charmant.
During the course of their extensive collaboration, which lasted more than a decade, Charmant has had a positive impact on Puma’s eyewear business, helping it become a successful brand in the field.
The switch to the new eyewear partner will start with a bang, as Puma repositions itself as a sports brand. The first collection by Kering Eyewear, titled “Collezione Uno”, will comprise optical frames and sunglasses and is divided in three main segments: Performance, Active and Sportstyle. Set to be unveiled later this month, the collection combines technology and color to reveal products that are distinctive and highly functional. The range will also include eyewear items designed for specific activities, such as running and playing golf.
The Puma eyewear collections will continue to be available in the brand’s own stores, as well as online and in general retail stores. (Puma)
