THE TRIBUTE – For Max Mara, the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 season is a time for blending innovation and nostalgia in an unexpected, sophisticated way. The ad campaign stars actress Amy Adams, who appears to be a great fit for the aesthetics and the spirit of the fashion house. Posing in the brand’s trademark coats, she highlights the newest Max Mara bags and eyewear.
The eyewear in question is a pair of pink opal acetate sunglasses, with mirrored brown lenses. Named “Tribute”, the frames are exactly that: a celebration of the houses’ sartorial excellence through the iconic stitch detailing. The cutting-edge frames come in three color options: black, bronze brown and pink, the last of which is worn by Amy Adams. The outside of the arms is covered in a faux croc texture, while the inside features a fabric that is more delicate to the touch – a soft, rubbery material.
Thankfully, the campaign is also accompanied by a video. The one-minute short film explores the inspiration behind the “Tribute” sunglasses, their manufacturing process and the way they align to the house’s existing set of iconic products. The entire concept revolves around the distinctive backstitching of the brand’s coats, which are an international staple for fashionistas everywhere.
