NEUTRAL FRAMES – For this season’s collection and campaign, Marc Jacobs took an austere approach. Instead of colorful and pretty clothes (in the conventional way, at least), he turned to the million and one ways of interpreting a uniform. The endeavor turned out to be as fashionable as it gets, with various proportions, lengths and embellishmentstaking over an impressive amount of standard green and dark blue variations. Everything was enrichedwith small details, adding a warm, feminine touch: short hems, Mary Janes and sophisticated handbags. The campaign also features new eyewear designs, but they are so carefully blended in, thatyou can almost miss them.
The sunglasses, for example, are translucent and have a retro vibe that works perfectly with the uniform-centered collection. They also have oversized frames shaped as octagonswithin a round contour. This kind of detail alone shows just how much work went into each of the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2015 pieces.
The eyeglasses are dark blue, matching the universal black wig that every model is sporting. The rounded frames reveal a thick contour and even thicker temples which play into the determined, ready-to-go vibe of the collection.
