INSTAGRAM CASTING – Marc Jacobs turned to Instagram in order to find the models for the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 campaign. Alongside stylist Katie Grand, they asked all those who would like to be featured to post a photo of themselves using the hashtag #CastMeMarc. The idea was an instant success, with 70,000 people responding to the challenge. Out of them, only 10 lucky ones made the cut and were shot by David Sims for this edgy, unconventional campaign.

If you take a look at the images, you’ll notice that these new faces make up quite a diverse bunch, which is very much in tune with the spirit of the Marc by Marc Jacobs brand: current, fresh, hip. Colorful hair, sharp hairstyles, infinitely awesome clothes and styling, plus the fun, yet professional attitude of the models – these were the ingredients that made the campaign insanely successful in the eyes of the public.

And, yes: the eyewear is equally cool. Both the optical pairs and the sunglasses feature colors and textures that fit right into the eccentric mix of prints worn by each boy and girl. They may have classic shapes (square or cat eye), but their overall appeal is raw and edgy, matching the brand’s core vision.
