IT GIRL (AND FRAMES) OF THE MOMENT – It was only a matter of time: Lily-Rose Depp, the 16 year old daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp was announced as the face of the Chanel Pearl eyewear collection. After making waves with her first appearance at the Métiers d’Art show earlier this year and walking in the Chanel haute couture show just last week, this campaign comes as a confirmation of her budding it-girl status.
And she’s a natural in front of the camera, too. Taking after her mother, a long-time muse of Karl Lagerfeld (Vanessa Paradis stared in her first Chanel campaign when she was only 18), she is bound to become one of the coolest names in the industry. With a charm that matches Vanessa’s, Lily-Rose Depp poses for the new campaign with dark lips and a tousled hair style that successfully offsets the dainty and almost magical-looking frames.
The round, pearl-encrusted sunglasses, which are the stars of the Chanel eyewear Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collection, are revisiting the classic adornment in a modern way. A far cry from the oversized, thick-rimmed retro silhouette that has (and still is) dominating this season’s trends, the new shades feature slim contours with just a whiff of vintage flavor. Between the white, pristine pearly frame and the contrasting lenses, the Chanel pearl sunglasses stun with a double top half. We will publish more images from the Lily-Rose Depp Chanel eyewear campaign as soon as they become available.
