SUMMER EYEWEAR EXTRAVAGANZA – When it comes to ad campaigns, you can leave it to Kenzo to come up with something so cool and unique that it’ll get stuck in your head for a long while. For Spring/Summer 2015, the French fashion house has once again enlisted photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari to capture one of the season’s boldest and hottest visions. Sounds like a bold claim? Futuristic Vision: The Kenzo Eyewear 2015 Campaign

Starring Mona Matsuoka and Zhao Qinghe, the pictures paint a futuristic and, at times, even surreal image. The scene is set by a clear blue summer sky and a set of daring skyscrapers which populate the background. Sharp lines, crisp architecture and tall structures serve as micro props throughout the entire campaign, painting the image of a clean and perfect future. Perhaps Kenzo is projecting their well-wishes for our planet, since the brand’s goal for the SS 15 season was to raise climate awareness. Hopefully, their optimistic vision will come true and this bright blue sky will reflect the wellbeing of the entire Earth.

What’s clear now is that the background is perfectly chosen for Kenzo’s latest eyewear offerings. Let’s start off with the optical frames: both pairs are rectangular and slightly oversized. However, the men’s pair stands out thanks to a more prominent top bar, which adds a cool edge to otherwise thin silhouette. Moving on to the sunglasses: Kenzo is betting it all on a superb semi-rimless appearance in bronze (hers) and blue (his). Sleek, flawless and impeccable color combinations: this is what Kenzo has in store in terms of eyewear.
