K IS FOR KOLOR – For someone this busy (he is the head designer and creative director of Chanel, Fendi and his namesake brand), Karl Lagerfeld sure is a tireless visionary force. One may worry that he spends all his imagination on creating extensive collections for the first two houses, but those fears should wash away instantly with the sight of the Karl Lagerfeld sunglasses 2015 campaign. Targeted at a fuss-free audience, the Karl Lagerfeld brand is all about a hip and young approach.

For the Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Karl Lagerfeld enlisted none other than the up-and-coming Kendall Jenner to star in the new (and very colorful) visuals. Alongside her are established names Ming Xi, Sasha Luss and, of course, Baptiste Giabiconi – one of Karl’s favorite models. As usual, the ad campaign was shot by the designer himself and it was focused only on the accessories, which were highlighted against a black-and-white backdrop.

Under the motto “Color is the new black”, accessories come to life: bags, scarves and eyewear are all in the spotlight. The Karl Lagerfeld sunglasses are in the center of attention and come in almost all the primary and secondary colors. As for the styles, a classic wayfarer silhouette and an oversized square frame can be spotted in the ad images and in the promotional video as well. Dual-colored shades clearly rule Karl’s world: most of the sunglasses have black temples that help tone down the bright look. Clearly, the colorful Karl Lagerfeld frames were designed to make a statement – just like everything else that Karl does.
