SLEEK AND TIMELESS – Jil Sander has teamed up with eyewear specialist and manufacturer Rodenstock to bring to life the brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 frame collection. And, as expected when two niche leaders join forces, the result is exceptional. Designed in collaboration with Rodolfo Paglialunga, Creative Director of the house, the eyewear perfectly reflects the sophisticated DNA and sleek, timeless appeal that Jil Sander is known for.

The same sophistication and a minimalistic vibe dominates the campaign as well. Shot by Collier Schorr and starring Annely Bouma and Rogier Bosschaart, the series of three images strike the perfect balance between artistic and fashion portraits. A soft pastel background and the models’ neutral-colored shirts are the only muted elements in the frame: all the talking is done exclusively by the glasses.

The Jil Sander eyewear 2015 collection is made up of classic shapes with a modern touch. For women, the optical frames have rounded contours and a slight cat eye shape. The sunglasses are rounder, slightly oversized and come in a delightful, soft yellow tone. The men’s glasses have the same sleekness to them, except for the fact that they come in a stark, black shade that gives them an extra dose of attitude. Even though they vary in shape and size, all the glasses in the collection are characterized by one common element: the fine, metallic temples that give them enough of an edge to not let them blend in the crowd. And this understated, simple and timless touch is exactly what Jil Sander is all about.
