THE FENDI ORCHID SUNGLASSES – Fendi’s main focus this season might be on their Shades Of Dolce Vita collaboration with Thierry Lasry, but that doesn’t mean that the house’s own sunglasses for the new season are left behind. In fact, they make quite a few appearances in this epic, poolside story created for the Spring/Summer 2015 campaign.

Shot by Karl Lagerfeld, the ad campaign stars an unusually curly-haired Lindsey Wixson and a charismatic Nadja Bender. Looking like a pair of girlfriends who are spending a very fashionable day at a penthouse pool, the two strike a few mysterious poses in summery Fendi looks. The baby blue background provides a serene contrast to the fun-infused clothes and playful accessories. Needless to say, the water based, summer alluding context is a fitting ambience for the latest Fendi sunglasses as well.

Just like in the Spring/Summer 2015 runway show, the Fendi Orchid sunglasses are stealing the spotlight of the ad campaign as well. And for good reason. Their cat eye, geometric style strikes a perfect balance between modern and nostalgic. With their thin, metallic temples, angular line breaks and intriguing double contour, they are the bound to become as equally coveted as the Fendi Iridia style, if not more.

But it’s not all about sunglasses. There is also a pair of optical eyeglasses in the campaign. Modeled by Nadja Bender, the side view hints at a square frame, delicately finished off with a top metallic accent and thin temples. This futuristic detail may look precious, but it’s discrete enough to make the frames work for a day at the office, too.
