THICK-RIMMED SUNGLASSES AND AN IRREVERENT MOOD – Promoting their Fall/Winter 2014 collection, the French fashion house enlisted Daria Werbowy as the star of one of their campaigns for the fifth time in a row. And the reason is pretty much evident, n’est ce pas? The chameleonic model with fierce-looking eyes and downright irreverent attitude fits right in with the house’s cool-girl aesthetics.

This season, the Céline woman wears clothes infused with masculine elements, yet with a touch of sensuality and casual fierceness. And this is exactly what Daria embodies in the photos shot by Juergen Teller in his raw, unstaged, unedited style. Wearing feminine coats and showcasing bags, accessories and eyewear, she looks at once in control and lost in reverie.

Of course, the Céline eyewear follows the same feminine, irreverent pattern. So, naturally, the model wears attention-grabbing, oversized sunglasses with thick-rimmed frames and even thicker temples. Shown in a subtle pastel pink shade, they contrast wonderfully with the dark tone of the coat, the easy-going, relaxed hair styling and the almost complete lack of make-up. Just one more proof that a pair of statement sunglasses must be allowed to shine all on their own. Céline style.
